Fire at The Beacon School injures 2
At least two people were injured in a fire at the Beacon School in Manhattan, according to the FDNY.
The fire department said they responded to a small fire this morning around 9:05 a.m. at 227 W 61st St.
The fire was in a science lab in the school, an FDNY official said. The fire was fully extinguished on arrival.
Two people, one male and one female, were transported to Cornell Hospital with burns, the official said.
One of the victims had serious but non-life-threatening burns, and the other had minor burns, the official said. The official did not know their ages, but they were reportedly students.
