Guns, ammo, serial killer books seized after stand-off with Dartmouth man
Police seized numerous firearms, ammunition and books on how to be a serial killer and cook methamphetamine following a seven-hour standoff with a Dartmouth man who allegedly threatened to shoot faculty at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI.
Kevin Pacheco, 36, was arrested Tuesday after an eight-hour standoff with police on Richard Street in Dartmouth that was sparked by comments he made to staff at Roger Williams School of Law in Bristol, R.I., where he had been a student.
The school released a statement saying, “Though the communication contained some language interpreted to be threatening in nature, our Public Safety team consulted with local police on site and they jointly determined that there was no immediate safety threat to campus.”
Pacheco was taken to a New Bedford hospital for evaluation, and is due to be arraigned for extortion and making threats.
