Defense attorneys for accused Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev want a trial date no earlier than September 2015, according to court documents filed Monday.

Federal prosecutors and Tsarnaev’s lawyers are due in U.S. District Court in Boston Wednesday morning for a status conference. The meeting will be the first since U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder gave the go-ahead for federal prosecutors to pursue the death penalty against the 20-year-old.

Also included in a joint status report filed Monday; prosecutors estimate that the trial will last three months, plus another six months if he is convicted.

Tsarnaev and his older brother Tamerlan are accused of setting off two bombs at the Boston Marathon finish line, killing three people and injuring more than 260 others. They are also accused of killing MIT Police Officer Sean Collier days after the attack. Tamerlan Tsarnaev died in a police shootout.

Tsarnaev will not appear at Wednesday’s hearing.
