Mitt Romney’s international goodwill tour continues, ‘Kiss my a–’ says aide
Presidential candidate Mitt Romney continued his world tour yesterday, with a foul-mouthed, cranky aide telling reporters to “kiss my ass” and “shove it.”
Metro is particularly impressed at the audacity of candidate’s bad will tour because the aide, Rick Gorka, is the traveling press secretary — a staffer whose entire job it is to prevent, not create negative press.
Gorka had previously told reporters to “show some respect” while asking questions at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw, adding that “This is a holy site for the Polish people.” Gorka later apologized to reporters, who have reportedly only had three questions answered despite following the candidate to the U.K. Israel, and Poland.
Earlier on Romney’s overseas tour, the candidate had criticized London’s preparedness for the Olympics (earning a skewering in the British press, jabs from British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Romney back-peddling), and caused a furor in Palestine by saying that Israeli culture and the “hand of providence” had created “stark difference in economic vitality” between Israel and Palestine.
Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) said Mitt Romney’s overseas trip proved he wasn’t “ready for prime time.”
Senior Obama campaign advisor David Axelrod gleefully weighed in on Twitter: “Is there anything about Romney’s Rolling Ruckus that would inspire confidence in his ability to lead US foreign policy?”
The only good news for Romney? His trip comes to an end today. Hopefully, American soil can help Romney find his footing again.
