Man killed by train

BAY SHORE – A Baldwin man was pronounced dead at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore after being struck by a Long Island Rail Road train on Wednesday evening. A Babylon-bound train hit the unidentified man in his 50s as it was entering the Baldwin station at 7:55 p.m. Train service was canceled after he was hit and service in both directions was suspended for about an hour. The MTA is investigating the death.
