Ray Kelly tops mayoral list
Ray Kelly might not want the job, but New Yorkers feel differently.
In a poll released today, the police commissioner heads the pack of possible 2013 candidates for mayor, with 23 percent of New Yorkers supporting him in a Quinnipiac University poll released today.
Following Kelly was City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, who is publicly gunning for the gig, with 18 percent, and Brooklyn Borough President at Marty Markowitz with 12 percent support.
Other options included city Comptroller John Liu, who got 10 percent of voters’ support, and former Comptroller and mayoral candidate Bill Thompson, with 8 percent.
Former Rep. Anthony Weiner had been a top contender before resigning last month after he admitted sending explicit photos.
