Solar powered truck promotes home panel installation

Stop and get an all-natural popsicle from Sungevity this week, as the solar-powered truck cruises the Hub side streets promoting its launch in the Northeast region.

Boston has been on the forefront of going green, according to city officials and their attempts to make the city an environmentally sound place to reside, and Sungevity is jumping on Boston’s boastful efforts.

Sungevity, a self-proclaimed “customer-centric” residential solar company that helps get panels on peoples’ roofs at an affordable cost, is driving around the Hub toting its solar solution to energy cost increases.

According to a press release sent out by the company, Sungevity soared into Massachusetts to launch its solar leasing service, which saves consumers an average of 15 percent on their monthly energy bills.

The bio-diesel, solar-powered ice pop truck that will tour Boston and surrounding towns today, Wednesday, August 3, will introduce residents to the company’s iQuote process, using iPads, giving an estimate for monthly solar panel costs.

On Wednesday, August 3, the truck will be at the following locations:

2:30 p.m. –  5:30 p.m. On Newbury Street, between Berkeley and Clarendon Streets

6 p.m. – 10 p.m.  Esplanade (near the Shell Hatch), on Beacon Street and Embankment Road.
