Remains of Winthrop murder victim identified
The man whose decomposing remains were found stuffed under a Winthrop porch were identified today by authorities.
Casey Taylor, 36, who had no fixed address, was stabbed in the heart by John Lacoy, 47, of Winthrop, authorities said.
Lacoy then allegedly put Taylor’s remains under his porch in Winthrop.
It took authorities days to identify Taylor’s remains because of the advanced state of decomposition.
Police discovered the remains last Tuesday after neighbors called to complain about a strong odor.
Authorities said Lacoy and Taylor were “romantically involved” and had a “volatile relationship.”
Locay pleaded not guilty during his murder arraignment last week.
