Wanted: Dropkick Murphys band-aid

Who wouldn’t want to party with these guys?

The Dropkick Murphys are looking for a roadie.

“I don’t want to hype this up for people to think they can come and be an a—hole,” said Ken Casey, lead singer and bassist from the Dropkick Murphys. “But there will be some pre-show and post-show partying going on, so they will fit right in.”

For an entire day, a raffle-winner and a friend will be shipped up to Boston to shadow the band and receive party tips and gifts.

The winner of the “roadie for a day” raffle shouldn’t expect to do any heavy lifting, said Casey, it’s more about appreciation for supporting their charity, the Claddagh Fund.

But partying hard is welcomed, Casey said.

“They will know if they cross the line cause they will get smacked around a little,” he joked. “We have seen every stunt someone can try and pull, so nothing will surprise us. But you never know.”
You don’t need to be a rock god to enjoy the day with the group, however.

“It could be someone that just wants a free air ticket, as long as they paid for the raffle and supported the effort, I couldn’t care either way,” said Casey.

Casey, who founded the Claddagh Fund, joined the Boston Bruins Foundation to host the online raffle.

Proceeds will benefit both organizations.

Casey said he is excited return to Boston and play at Fenway Park on Sept. 9.

“We have had many appearances, but to do our own show at Fenway, it’s one of those things you can’t help but save for the scrapbook,” he said.
