Trapped aboard JetBlue plane for hours

Talk about plane infuriating.

The freak early snowstorm that hit the East Coast this weekend stranded more than 200 passengers aboard a Newark-bound JetBlue flight for seven hours on Saturday, without food, water or working bathrooms.

Flight 504 departed from Fort Lauderdale at 10 a.m., headed for Newark. However, the rapidly deteriorating weather made landing in New Jersey impossible, and the plane was rerouted north, where it landed at an airport near Hartford, Conn., at 1:30 p.m.

Passengers on board were told they would be able to disembark as soon as the plane landed, but instead they didn’t get off the aircraft until after 9 p.m.

“We ran out of water,” passenger Andrew Carter told The Hartford Courant from aboard the plane.

“The bathrooms are all clogged up and disgusting,” he said. “The power would go off every 45 minutes or so for five minutes or so, and that would freak people out.’’

Some passengers threatened to call the police.

Firefighters came aboard to help a paraplegic man who had circulation trouble in his legs, according to the Courant. After that, more firefighters arrived at 9 p.m. and helped people off the plane with a ladder.

JetBlue reportedly apologized for the incident, and promised refunds.
