Police looking for men in Flyers-Rangers brawl outside Geno’s

YouTube still of the fight.

After a video of Philadelphia Flyers fans and New York Rangers fans brawling outside of Geno’s following the NHL Winter Classic went viral when it was posted to YouTube Monday night, police are looking to file charges against three men in connection with the incident.

According to police, three men wearing Flyers jerseys assaulted two men wearing Rangers jerseys around 7:15 p.m. on the 1200 block of South 9th Street. One of the victims was hospitalized for a concussion.

The argument was reportedly ignited when one of the Flyers fans allegedly paid a car window washer to spray one of the Rangers fans.

The original uncensored video, which can still be seen on Deadspin, has been removed from YouTube and replaced with a less violent version edited by police.

In the uncut video, after some back-and-forth bickering, one of the Flyers fans can be seen taking a swing at a Rangers fan, who fights back but is knocked to the ground. Another Flyers fan jumps in, pounding the Rangers fan while he is down on the ground.

One of the Flyers fans, who police call the “main aggressor,” is then joined by a third man and the two begin to punch a second Rangers fan, who is also knocked to the ground.

When both Rangers fans get up, one of them gets a punch to the side of the head and is knocked unconscious.

Here’s the police’s shortened video:

The suspects are described as three unknown males wearing Philadelphia Flyers jerseys (seriously).

Anyone with information about the incident or suspects is asked to call 215-686-TIPS (8477) or to call the South Detective Division at 215-686-3013 or 3014.
