Giants quarterback Eli Manning king of New York City today

Giants quarterback Eli Manning waves to fans alongside New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, with Giants coach Tom Coughlin at the far right.

Thousands of New York Giants fans turned Broadway into a river of Big Blue for the Super Bowl XLVI celebration this morning. As quarterback Eli Manning’s float went by, crowds shouted “MVP, MVP!”

Anthony Crisostomo of West Babylon, 48, was wearing three layers of Giants jerseys to keep warm.

“It means so much to me to have this day,” he said. “We are number one in the world!”

Sporting a championship white hat, Crisostomo rushed each parade float hoping for a signature.

“I have Pierre-Paul, Jake Ballard and one other one,” he said. “I’m hoping Eli Manning will sign the back.”

During the official ceremony on the steps of City Hall, Giants coach Tom Coughlin said he spoke to President Barack Obama today, who congratulated the team on the win.

And Mayor Michael Bloomberg introduced Manning as “the coolest guy in town.”

Speaking before a crowd of thousands in front of City Hall, Manning said his team needed to make the road tough this season, and referred to the fact that the Giants lost four games straight this season before they went on to win the Super Bowl.
