Taleek Brooks: Teacher’s aide arrested for allegedly making child pornography in classroom

Taleek Brooks

A teacher’s aide charged last month with possession of child pornography was arrested again Monday night, after FBI agents discovered that he not only possessed kiddie porn, but was allegedly making it in the Bedford-Stuyvesant elementary school where he worked.

Taleek Brooks, a teacher’s aide at PS 243, The Weeksville School in Brooklyn, was arrested on Jan 13. under suspicion that he was downloading and sharing child pornography.

When he was arrested in January, Brooks allegedly confessed to an FBI agent that he had indeed downloaded the videos and over the past seven years, had collected a catalog of over 1,000 files.

Agents searched his home on Jan 13. and confiscated a computer and two external hard drives from his bedroom. When investigators examined the files, they found videos that depicted the defendant touching and spanking naked children in a school classroom, according to the criminal complaint. Officials told Metro yesterday they fear that classroom is at PS 243.

Brooks was held without bail yesterday. If convicted, he can face up to 15 years in prison.

Following the shocking allegation, city Schools Commissioner Dennis Walcott rushed to the Bed-Stuy school to speak with teachers and the school’s parent coordinator yesterday.

“As chancellor, and as a father, I am horrified and disgusted at the charges we learned of today from the F.B.I.” said Walcott. “Our paramount concern is for the safety of our students, and we are cooperating fully with the federal authorities as they continue their investigation.”

The FBI is actively seeking more information regarding Brooks arrest and will be investigating at The Weeksville School beginning today.

Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 212-384-5000.
