Anthony Lacertosa: Staten Island man killed at engagement party
A Staten Island man was killed on the very night he was out celebrating his engagement.
Anthony Lacertosa, 27, was reportedly stabbed in the chest after getting into a dispute with restaurant workers in the early hours of Saturday morning. Lacertosa, who worked as a bricklayer, was out celebrating at Espana Restaurant and Lounge in Annadale, Staten Island, where he and his friends went for drinks after his engagement party.
During the revelry, two of his brothers were thrown out of the eatery and they sought retaliation by urinating against the wall of a restaurant, police sources told the New York Post. Restaurant employees reportedly became angry and confronted the two men. Lacertosa became involved in the dispute and was stabbed in the chest.
The restaurant manager turned himself in for questioning, but was not believed to have wielded the knife, according to the Post.
His fiancée, Bridgette Schneider, 24, desperately tried to save him by giving him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation as he lay bleeding on the sidewalk, but he could not be revived. He died at Staten Island University Hospital South. Cops are searching for the stabber.
