‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ filming out of Brooklyn Academy of Music … for one week

The Nets are coming to Brooklyn this fall and now Jimmy Kimmel is, too.

Kimmel — Sarah Silverman-ex, upcoming host of the Emmy awards, and who also happens to be a native of New York’s most beloved outer borough — announced this morning on “Live with Kelly” that he will be filming the show in BK from Oct. 29 to Nov. 2. He will produce five episodes of  “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” out of the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Ft. Greene.

Why is Kimmel taking a brief hiatus from L.A., where the show normally films?

Kimmel was born in the Mill Basin neighborhood in 1967 and was briefly raised there as a child. The show’s filming in Brooklyn also coincides with the inaugural season of the Brooklyn Nets, which will play at the nearly-finished Barclays Center nearby.

Kimmel promises his guest roster that week will include people with Brooklyn connections — and Brooklyn Boro President Marty Markowitz can only hope he makes an appearance.

“We want to welcome a favorite son of Mill Basin back to Brooklyn,” said an ecstatic Markowitz today. “Jimmy Kimmel Live! may be based in La La Land, but this fall it will finally make it to the ‘big stage’ of Brooklyn, USA—and we are confident that once he does his show here, he will relocate to Brooklyn permanently!”

Some Brooklyn sights will also be featured on the show, Kimmel promised.
