Blast at construction site near High Line injures two people

Fire trucks respond to the midmorning explosion.

Two people were injured during an explosion on the west side of Manhattan this morning.

Officials said the blast occurred at a construction site near West 14th St. and 10th Ave. around 10 a.m. The site is near the High Line, where many people are out to enjoy the warm weather.

The NYPD said two people were injured by shards of glass during the explosion and they were transferred to Bellevue Hospital.
