A well-respected urologist at Mount Sinai Medical Center was arraigned today for shooting videos up a woman’s skirt, the Manhattan district attorney’s office confirmed for Metro.

The alleged incident happened on the Union Square subway station last Friday.

A transit police officer witnessed Dr. Adam W. Levinson, 39, holding a newspaper under the woman’s skirt on the subway, according to the complaint. The newspaper had a pen and tiny video camera attached, according to the criminal complaint.

Levinson is a highly respected doctor and assistant professor of robotics and minimally invasive surgery at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, according to Mount Sinai’s website. His patients have also rated him very highly on several doctor-rating websites, The New York Times reported.

Levinson has been suspended from his position at Mount Sinai pending the result of the investigation by the DA’s office, Mount Sinai spokesman Ian Michaels told Metro.

“This is a police matter and Mount Sinai is cooperating fully with the authorities,” Michaels said.

The doctor was charged with unlawful surveillance in the first degree this morning, and his bail is set at $5,000 cash or $15,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 15th.
