Mendi Altman: NYPD investigating death of 1-year-old boy

The NYPD is investigating the death of a child brought to a Brooklyn hospital.

According to police, 1-year-old Mendi Altman, was transported to Maimonides Hospital by private means just before 1 a.m. on September 18. He was unconscious and unresponsive and pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police said the incident occurred on the second floor of 5813 11th Avenue in Brooklyn, though the boy’s address is listed as 4 David Ct., Monsey, New York.

The NYPD has not yet released any further details about his death.
