MassPort gives Logan travelers a break on parking fees after Hurricane Sandy
The Massachusetts Port Authority is going easy on travelers who were held up this week due to Hurricane Sandy.
Yesterday, MassPort announced a parking fee rebate for customers delayed returning to Boston Logan as a result of the storm. Rebates will be made for the period of time that exceeds the customer’s original ticketed date of return, officials said.
“Sandy has made life difficult for all of us, and we appreciate the millions of people who rely on Boston Logan to connect them with the world,”’ said Aviation Director Ed Freni. “This is a matter of customer service, and much like an airline waiving the change fee on tickets during the storm, we don’t want our customers to face an unhappy return.’”
To qualify for the adjustment, customers must pay the full amount when exiting a Logan parking facility and then email Massport at email@example.com requesting a rebate.
Once Massport receives the request, customers will be directed to provide a copy of their original travel itinerary or airline ticket; a copy of rescheduled itinerary or ticket and a copy of the Logan Airport parking receipt or proof of payment. All forms and requests must be completed and returned via mail by November 30, officials said.
