Etan Patz suspect scheduled for release
The man police long suspected of killing six-year-old Etan Patz decades ago will reportedly be released Wednesday.
According to the Associated Press, Jose Ramos will be released from a Pennsylvania prison where he has been held.
Ramos was a longtime suspect but never charged criminally. He denied any part in the crime.
Patz disappeared in 1979 while walking to school in Soho. His remains were never found, and investigators combed the area for clues earlier this year, near where his parents still live.
According to the AP, Ramos spent 20 years in prison for molesting other children.
Another suspect, Pedro Hernandez, was charged with the murder this spring.
