Grays Ferry man, 4-year-old son wounded in double shooting
A 30-year-old man and his 4-year-old son are both hospitalized after they were struck by gunfire in Grays Ferry last night.
Police said the bullets began to fly shortly after 7:20 p.m. on the 2700 block of Daly Terrace near the Philadelphia Housing Authority’s Wilson Park Apartments.
The father, who was reportedly loading the child into the back of a minivan, was shot in the arm and back and suffered a graze wound to the head, according to investigators. He is in stable condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
The man’s 4-year-old son was shot once in the stomach and rushed to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where he is also in stable condition today.
Police could not say if the adult victim was the intended target of the shooting. There is no word on a motive, and no arrests have yet been made.
