Philly rap beef: Meek Mill fires back at Cassidy with ‘Repo’

Meek Mill posted this photo on Instagram last night after dropping the Cassidy diss track "Repo."

After what seemed like a tentative truce, Philly rappers Meek Mill and Cassidy are back at it again, waging their ongoing war of words in the studio and on social media.

Prefaced by a series of pointed tweets, Meek last night dropped “Repo,” in which he takes aim at Cassidy for — as the title suggests — being broke. And a hater.

It didn’t take Cassidy long to respond:

Rumors of a possible battle between the two hometown heavyweights came to a boil over the past few months, but Cassidy wrote in November that the beef was nonexistent:

That apparently changed after Cassidy earlier this month dropped “Condom Style,” a parody of PSY’s runaway hit “Gagnam Style”:

Meek was less than impressed, taking to Instagram to call it “the worst song in the history of rapping”:

Cassidy defended the track:

But he apparently didn’t laugh off the diss, releasing “Me, Myself and iPhone” about a week later.

In it, he slams Meek as a young whippersnapper who needs a few more years of consistent success before he can call other rappers out. Or something like that.

The move, of course, sparked another round of furious tweeting, as Meek took issue with Cassidy’s claim that the rappers’ respective jail sentences were somehow equivalent:

All seemed quiet until Meek’s release last night, which was accompanied by some pretty heavy images (and some, not so much):

Meek today claimed he’s done, announcing on Twitter (of course) that he’s over the argument. Cassidy’s feed remains silent for the time being.
