Slayed woman is 2013’s first murder (Updated)

A 59-year-old woman shot to death was the first murder of the year, cops said Thursday.

According to police, Elzina Brown, 59, was found unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest around 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon in the Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx.

Another woman, 22, was shot in the face. She was transported to the hospital in stable condition, cops said.

Police said Friday they are searching for Raymond Mayrant, 25, described as 5-foot-9 and about 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
