Student injured in Empire State Building shooting sues NYPD
One of the people wounded in the Empire State Building shooting last summer has decided to sue the NYPD.
According to the Associated Press, Chenin Duclos, a North Carolina student, is suing the department and alleging the officers were negligent.
Duclos was one of the bystanders injured when officers were shooting at a man that allegedly opened fire on a former coworker.
According to the AP, the suit, filed today, suggests the officers should have waited to shoot at the man until he moved away from people on the street outside the tourist destination.
The incident raised questions about the NYPD’s firearms training.
