A Saturday night fire at a Williamsburg public housing building claimed the life of a 78-year-old woman.
After firefighters successfully extinguished the 12th-floor blaze, they found Nelly Bermudez lying in her living room with severe burns. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
No other apartments inside the Ross Street building were damaged, nor was anyone displaced, police said.
