MBTA looking into cause of crumbling concrete at Forest Hills station
This morning, a commuter rail passenger tipped off the MBTA to a potentially dangerous issue at Forest Hills Station in Jamaica Plain.
“Crumbling concrete falling from the ceiling on the Forest Hills
commuter rail platform. Dangerous, yes? Please check it out,” Elizabeth
Costello tweeted a little after 8:30 a.m., to which T officials responded by saying crews were en route to the station.
MBTA Spokesman Joe Pesaturo said no one was hurt, and that the cause of the crumbling was under investigation.
Over the summer, crumbling concrete shut down the Quincy Center parking garage - the oldest garage in the MBTA system.
