VIDEO: Nunchuck-wielding thugs attack man for jacket

The three assailants were caught on surveillance camera, attacking the victim as he attempted to flee through the turnstile.

Three teens assaulted a 25-year-old man Sunday afternoon at the West 157 Street subway station in Washington Heights.

The assailants approached the victim on the mezzanine of the station and told him they liked his jacket and wanted it.

They beat and kicked him and when he resisted, one of the suspects began to beat him with a pair of nunchucks.

The victim was able to escape through the turnstile and was treated at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital and released with lacerations to his head.

The suspects are between 17 and 19 years old, Hispanic and each about 5-foot-7 or -8 and 150 pounds. One wore a grey jacket and yellow and burgundy baseball cap; the second wore a grey jacket and green baseball cap; the third wore a black t-shirt and black-and-grey checkered scarf.

The assault was captured on surveillance video:

The NYPD requested that anyone with information about the suspects call the Crim Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. Tips can also be submitted online at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or via text by texting TIP577 to 274637 (CRIMES).
