A woman who fought with her parents about her right to die passed away this weekend.

Grace Sung Eun Lee, 28, died Sunday, according to the Daily News.

Lee had a brain tumor that confined her to her bed, and she had reportedly told her parents she wanted to be allowed to die.

But her parents resisted, in what became news headlines and a public court battle last year.

A judge ruled against the parents, but Lee ultimately sided with her family.

Her brother told the Daily News that her ventilator stopped working.

  1. It’s sad that even facing death, you’d have to fight with your own family as to whether or not you can go. It’s heartbreaking.

    Rest in peace Grace.

  2. How very sad. I think as parents we are never ready to see a child go. My mother always says “Where there is life there is hope” I am sure that her parents were hoping for a miracle as I am sure I would if my daughter was in the same situation. May she rest in peace. I am so sorry there was no miracle for her & her parents.
