A taxi killed a pedestrian early Sunday after being rear-ended by a car emerging from a spot.

A taxi was rear-ended early Sunday in Kips Bay, Manhattan, causing it to lose control and kill a female pedestrian.

Police said a Honda sedan struck the yellow cab just before 2 a.m. while emerging from a parking spot on Third Avenue near E. 27th Street. The taxi then apparently spun toward the sidewalk, where it hit the woman.

The victim, whom police did not immediately identify, received severe leg trauma. She was pronounced dead after being transferred to nearby Bellevue Hospital Center.

Both drivers remained at the scene, and no criminality is suspected.
