Police urge students to lock up for Spring Break
Whether you’re planning to spend the remaining days of Spring Break away from the city or are planning to get away for a longer period of time, police are urging students who live in off campus apartments to lock up.
Boston police recently issued an advisory for students urging those who live in apartment buildings to secure their doors and windows.
“Spring break brings the opportunity for students to get away but it can also provide opportunity for would be thieves,” police said in the advisory.
Police urged students to make sure their doors and windows are locked. They urged students to have neighbors watch out for their apartments and said students should secure their electornics including laptops, gaming systems, iPods and iPads. Those items should be taken with students on vacation if possible.
Also, mail should not be let to pile up on the porch, as it’s a sign that no one is home.
