More charges for cop car chase couple

Philadelphia Police Department. Shayna Sykes, 23, and Blake Bills, 24.

More charges have been filed against the Pennsylvania couple arrested yesterday after allegedly stealing two police cruisers and leading officers on a multi-state car chase.

In addition to charges Blake Bills and Shayna Skyes face in connection with the alleged thefts and chase, they are now accused of carjacking an additional vehicle the day before.

Police said a deliveryman parked his 2005 Nissan Altima on the 1000 block of North Hancock Street around 1 p.m. Monday. He left his keys in the ignition while dropping off food.

The man told investigators that as he was completing the delivery, an unknown white female jumped into his car and fled. That woman is believed to have been Sykes, and Bills also took part in the crime, police said this afternoon.

The couple are still jailed in Pennsylvania awaiting extradition to New Jersey, where still more charges have reportedly been filed against them, including attempted murder for allegedly striking a Camden police officer with his own patrol car.

A spokesman for the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office would not return calls seeking comment today.
