Anger over the death of a teenager who was shot by two police officers persists in Brooklyn. On the third night of protests, approximately 45 people were arrested and a police officer had a brick thrown in his face, The New York Times reported.

Wednesday night’s protest comes after two plain clothes police officers shot and killed 16-year-old Kimani Gray Saturday night after the teen pointed a gun at them. A vigil held for Gray on Monday turned into a riot, protests continued on Tuesday night and a candlelight vigil on Wednesday also ended with protests.

Most of Wednesday’s arrests were for disorderly conduct. Gray’s sister, Mahnefah Gray, was put inside a police car during the protests, triggering even more anger among the youth. She was given a summons and released.

Gray was hit by seven bullets and was shot both in the front and back of his body, according to the Medical Examiner. Some local residents and Gray’s family members said they don’t believe that the teen had a gun. Some even said they the teen had his hands in the air when he was shot.

A gun was recovered at the scene and Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said there was nothing to indicate that the shooting was outside the guidelines.
