Boston artists wanted for PaintBox, ArtBarrier projects

The Boston Art Commission is on the hunt for two local artists to add “color and vitality” to the city’s urban landscape.
ArtBarrier, a new program, is looking for a Boston graphic designer to help decorate concrete Jersey barriers located on public roadways throughout the city.
The designer will work with Boston Shines volunteers on April 27, during an annual citywide cleanup event.
Another artist is wanted for PaintBox, a program that launched in 2008, and has since led to the painting of more than 80 utility boxes throughout the city.
“Street art is a valid art form,” said Boston Art Commission Director Karin Goodfellow. ”It’s a good reminder that we have all these fantastic creative artists in Boston.”
Artists can apply through publicartboston.com.
