VIDEO: West Oak Lane restaurant triple shooting

Philadelphia police have released surveillance video that shows a man firing a handgun several times into a West Oak Lane Chinese restaurant Tuesday night.

Three people were injured in the gunfire at China House Takeout, located on the 6600 block of North 18th Street. The incident occurred about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The video posted by police on YouTube on Thursday shows several patrons inside the Chinese restaurant frantically attempting to keep the gunman outside the glass door.

One of the gunshot victims, a 22-year-old man, ran home and was taken to the hospital by his mother. He was shot once each in the right arm and left leg.

A 19-year-old man was shot in the left leg and a 21-year-old man was shot in the right arm. Both of those victims ran to Bouvier Street, where the 21-year-old man’s father drove them to the hospital.

Police are looking for the suspect, who is described as a black male, 6 feet to 6-feet-2-inches tall, with a medium build. He was last seen armed with a black handgun and wearing a dark-colored, hooded sweatshirt and black gloves, possibly baseball batting gloves.

Anyone with information on the triple shooting is asked to call 911, or to submit an anonymous tip by dialing 215-686-TIPS (8477), texting PPD TIP (773847), emailing tips@phillypolice.com or by filling out this online form.
