Weekend crime rundown: 7 shootings, 3 fatalities in 48 hours

Off-duty cop involved in a hit and run

An off-duty Philadelphia Police officer was injured in a car accident in West Philly around 5 a.m. Saturday when a vehicle ran a red light, police said.

The officer, who was not named, was driving home from work on 46th Street when a grey car ran the red light at Walnut Street and collided with the officer’s vehicle. The officer’s vehicle then spun into a tree at the intersection of Farragut and Walnut Streets.

The grey vehicle fled west on Walnut Street with heavy front-end damage. The officer is in stable condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

25-year-old man shot five times in torso

A 25-year-old man remains in critical condition after he was shot five times in the torso early Saturday morning, police said.

The man was shot around 2 a.m. at the intersecton of North 51st and Haverford ave. He was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. The investigation is ongoing.

Female in early 20s found dead from gunshot wound to the head

A woman in her early 20s was found dead around 7:30 a.m. Sunday with a gun shot wound to the head, police said.

The woman, who appears to have been shot once in the cheek and once in the side of her head, was found at a house on the 3000 block of Bailey Street.

Unidentified body found in car fire

An unidentified body was found inside a flaming 2013 Toyota around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.

The body was found inside the burning car, which was discovered on the 5000 block of Glenmore Avenue.

36-year-old man shot to death

A 36-year-old  man was killed Saturday night after he suffered multiple gun shots around 10:30 p.m. Saturday on the 700 block of West Venango Street, police said.

He was transferred to Temple University hospital and pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Man,54, shot in back in North Philly

A 54-year-old man remains in serious condition after he was shot in the back  around 11 p.m. Friday night in North Philadelphia, police said.

The man, who was shot at the 700 block of East Clearfield Street, was transported to Temple University Hospital.

Man shot in the head, in critical condition

A man in his 20s is in critical condition after he was shot once in the  head around Midnight Sunday at the 400 block of Parrish Street, police said.

23-year-0ld man shot in the chest

A 23-year-0ld man was shot in the chest around Midnight on Sunday at the 3000 block of Frankford Avenue, police said.

He was transferred to Temple University Hospital, where he currently is stable condition.
