Teen rescued from waist deep mud at Pa. state park
Luzerne County emergency responders yesterday had to rescue a teen who became stuck in waist deep mud at Nescopeck State Park, according to a report from The Citizens Voice.
A Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Park ranger said the teen was walking with family and friends on the site of a former lake shortly before 2:15 p.m. when he became trapped.
He apparently struggled to get out of the mud, but only sunk further down.
Six firefighters and a number of emergency medical service technicians had to stabilize themselves using a ladder and boards, then pull the teen out by hand.
In all, the teen was stuck for about 40 minutes.
No serious injuries were reported. The victim’s name has not been released.
