Mayor Michael Nutter and others will today reveal the lineup of the annual Wawa Welcome America! festival this year.

According to a press release, this year’s entertainament will include a “big name, Grammy-award winning national stars, representing a variety of music genres.”

Nutter joins Desiree Peterkin-Bell, city representative and Wawa Welcome America! Executive Director, and Chris Gheysens, president and CEO of Wawa. Some festival performers will also be in attendance. The announcement will be made 11:30 a.m., Thursday, at the Top of the Tower on 17th and Arch streets.

The Roots last year led the annual Fourth of July concert. They were joined by Queen Latifah, Daryl Hall, Common and Joe Jonas.

Wawa Welcome America tweeted today the Philly 4th of July Jam will be broadcast to a national audience.
