Union Square street dancer sought in teens’ robbery
Police are searching for a street dancer who they say robbed two teens inside the Union Square subway station last week after the victims watched him perform.
The victims, both 14 years old, watched the dancer perform inside the station about 3:50 p.m. on Friday, cops said. After the performance, the suspect lured the teens to an abandoned side of the L train platform and forced them to give him an iPhone and $30 in cash. He then told the teens to get on the train and leave.
The suspect is described as a black male, 17 to 19 years old, approximately 5-foot-8, 170lbs, with medium-length black hair. He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket with white lettering and dark sweatpants.
