Eagles’ Jason Peters charged with drag racing
Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jason Peters was arrested in Louisiana early Wednesday on charges alleging he was drag racing and fled from police.
Peters — the All-Pro tackle who missed the entire 2012 season with a torn Achilles tendon — drove a Chevrolet Camaro more than 100 mph while being pursued by police in Monroe, La., where a deputy sheriff’s officer allegedly observed two cars involved in a drag race, one of which was driven by Peters, according to a USA Today report.
Peters, 31, was placed in handcuffs, arrested and transported to Ouachita Correctional Center, booked on charges of drag racing and resisting by flight, according to the report.
Wednesday’s arrest marked the second time Peters has been locked up since coming to the Eagles before the 2009 season. He was charged with disturbing the peace in March 2011 while at a Rick Ross concert in Shreveport, La.
