Foxboro burglar calls for tow truck
When a Foxboro burglar found himself stuck in the mud, he did what any other frustrated driver would do. But calling a tow truck probably wasn’t the best idea, seeing as all the goods he stole were stashed in the back of his car.
The Sun Chronicle reports that the tow operator notified police shortly before noon Tuesday of the suspicious behavior of a driver whose truck he had just pulled from the muddy yard of a Bailey Street home. The driver then had peeled off across the front lawn of the property instead of keeping to the long, paved driveway, the Sun reports.
“He was able to give a very detailed description of the vehicle and the license plate,” police chief Edward O’Leary said Wednesday.
That information led police to a Taunton home, where the owner of the green Chevrolet pickup confirmed that her son had been using the vehicle for the past few days.
The thief broke into the home by removing an air conditioner from the window.
