SEPTA adds service for July 4 Welcome America celebration

SEPTA has announced it will add trolleys and trains to accommodate the crowds expected for the Fourth of July Welcome America celebration along the Ben Franklin Parkway.

Trains will be added on the Market-Frankford, Broad Street and Regional Rail train lines.

The schedule for extra trains will run as follows:

Market-Frankford: A total of 10 extra trains will be deployed to provide service every five to seven minutes starting at 4:25 p.m. These extra trips will run through the night to help customers get home after the celebration. The 15th Street Station provides riders access to the festival site on the Parkway.

Broad Street: Eight extra trains will be dispatched to provide service every five to seven minutes starting at 4:28 p.m. These service levels will remain in effect throughout the night. Several Broad Street Line stations are within walking distance of the event, including Spring Garden, Race-Vine and City Hall.

Regional Rail: SEPTA will extend its Regional Rail service for customers leaving Center City after the fireworks. A total of fifteen trains will depart from Suburban Station between 11:30 and 11:50 p.m. Trains will make all local stops. For a full schedule, click here.

SEPTA has also announced that extra trolleys will be added to Routes 10, 11, 13, 34 and 36 after the fireworks on an as-needed basis.
