Philadelphia police this morning identified one of three men killed in overnight shootings.

Samuel Cave, 20, of the 400 block of Champlost Street, was gunned down on the 5800 block of North 5th Street in the city’s Olney section about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police found Cave with a gunshot wound to his chest after responding to the area on a report of a shooting. Cave was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 11:52 p.m., Philadelphia police spokeswoman Officer Christine O’Brien said Wednesday morning.

A teenager was also injured in the Olney gunfire. The 17-year-old boy remains hospitalized at Einstein in critical condition with gunshot wounds to his arm and abdomen.

Cave was one of at least three homicide victims in Philadelphia Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

As of about 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, police were still not identifying the other two victims — a 32-year-old man who was shot multiple times on the 2500 block of North Marsdon Street in Strawberry Mansion about 2 a.m. Wednesday and a 33-year-old man shot multiple times on the 7200 block of Ogontz Avenue in West Oak Lane about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigators believe an argument may have preceded the fatal shooting in West Oak Lane, O’Brien said.
