A three-car crash in Germantown early Saturday morning left one person dead and six people injured, according to police.

Investigators said a 21-year-old man was driving a 2001 Subaru Outback south on Lincoln Drive near Morris Street when he around 2:45 a.m. lost control of the vehicle as he attempted to negotiate a curve in the road.

The man allegedly crossed the intersection of Lincoln Drive at Morris street, then swerved into the northbound lane of the road, where he hit a 41-year-old woman behind the wheel of a 2000 Nissan Maxima.

Police said the Maxima flew backward and was rear-ended by a 40-year-old woman driving a 2000 Honda Civic.

The Subaru then spun back across the southbound lanes of traffic and smashed into a guardrail.

A 27-year-old female passenger who was sitting in the right backseat of the Subaru was ejected, according to authorities.

She suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where she died shortly after 7 a.m.

Her identity had not yet been released Sunday.

A second backseat passenger in the Subaru was hospitalized in stable condition Sunday with complaints of pain, while a front seat passenger was admitted to Temple University Hospital with a depressed skull fracture and brain bleeding.

She remained in critical condition Sunday.

Police said the vehicle’s driver refused treatment.

Medics rushed the 41-year-old driver of the Nissan, along with a passenger, to Albert Einstein Medical Center.

They were both admitted in stable condition with broken bones requiring surgery, according to police.

The driver of the Civic was treated and released from Temple University Hospital.

No charges had yet been filed in connection with the crash Sunday, though police said the investigation was ongoing.
