Two men have been arrested and charged in the deaths of a mother and her three young children after they allegedly drag raced on the Roosevelt Boulevard Tuesday night and struck the family, police said.

Around 8 p.m this evening, Khusen Akhmedov, 23, and 30-year-old Ahmen Holloman were arrested and charged with four counts of homicide by vehicle, third degree murder and involuntary manslaughter.

On Tuesday, shortly before 10:30 p.m., 28-year-old Samara Selena Banks from the 4600 of C Street was walking with her four children. A 2012 Audi traveling southbound on Roosevelt Boulevard from Front Street, at a high speed, struck all five pedestrians. The mother and her 23-month-old son were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Her 7-month-old son Saamir died a short time later at Einstein Hospital. Her four-year-old son was pronounced dead this morning at 4:45 a.m., authorities said.

The fourth son—a five-year-old—remains in stable condition with bumps and bruises, police said.

A witness told police the Audi and a 1994 Honda were drag racing.

Akhmedov, of Queen Street in Lancaster City, and Holloman, of Soulder Street in Philadelphia, are additionally charged with five counts of recklessly endangering another person, and one count of aggravated assault, simple assault and aggravated assault by vehicle.
