Bristol Borough may ban political events at veterans memorials
Bristol Borough Council is considering an ordinance that would prohibit politicians from holding rallies at veterans memorials.
The move comes less than a month after council candidate Eric Sokalski announced his campaign at the Bristol Borough Veterans Monument, the Bucks County Courier Times reports.
“It’s a place for reflection, not protest,” council President Ralph DiGuiseppe, who is running against Sokalski for the South Ward Council seat, told the paper.
Sokalski reportedly apologized for holding a rally to announce his candidacy at the monument when the issue was brought up at a council meeting this month.
