Public Advocate Bill de Blasio’s campaign created an online petition asking his opponent Anthony Weiner to drop out of the mayoral race amid new revelations that the former congressman engaged in lewd online conversations after his resignation.

“Enough is enough,” the petition on his campaign website reads. “People are hurting in this city. They are looking for a campaign where candidates will respectfully discuss the issues they care about most: finding a job with a living wage; a good school in a safe neighborhood; an affordable home to raise a family.”

“Join the call for an end to this sideshow — because New Yorkers deserve better,” the petition asks.

In an email to the media, de Blasio’s campaign highlighted Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s veto of two City Council bills that would provide more police oversight — a piece of news that was overshadowed by Weiner on Tuesday.

After new allegations surfaced, Weiner admitted he engaged in sexually explicit conversations with women online even after resigning from Congress in disgrace in 2011.

Three other candidates for mayor — including two Democrats, former City Councilman Sal Albanese and the Rev. Erick Salgado, and one GOP candidate, Gristedes Foods chief John Catsimatidis — have also called for Weiner to step down.

Weiner said he would not give up, however.

“I’m sure many of my opponents would like me to drop out of the race,” he said at a press conference Tuesday.
