A man and woman were gunned down in Philadelphia overnight in separate shootings.

A 37-year-old man was shot and killed in Kensington about 11 p.m. Monday. Police identified the victim as Thomas Samarco, of the 500 block of Worth Street, this morning.

Samarco died in a hail of bullets as a gunman fired at least 12 shots in his direction, according to a report, striking two houses and three cars on the 700 block of East Allegheny Avenue.

The 37-year-old Worth Street man was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been shot in his left shoulder and back.

A teenager was fatally wounded by gunfire about two-and-a-half hours later when a gunman entered a home on the 2800 block of Sebring Road and opened fire, according to police.

The 18-year-old victim, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. She had been shot once in the head, police said.

A 23-year-old man was critically wounded by the gunfire inside the Northeast Philadelphia home. He is being treated at Aria Health Torresdale Campus, where he remained in critical condition this morning, police said.

No arrests have been made in either case, but police reportedly are seeking a suspect in the fatal Northeast Philadelphia double shooting.
