A New York City couple is campaigning to win a wedding at a JFK airport terminal.

Marelle Enoch-Marx, 25, said she and her fiance got engaged at the end of June. A few weeks later, she received an email about a Jet Blue contest to win a free wedding at the company’s T5 terminal in JFK.

“We hadn’t made our decisions about the ceremony yet and I wanted the ‘destination wedding,’” said Enoch-Marx, an office manager.

Enoch-Marx and Sean Cacciabaudo, 29, met in January 2012 through a bowling league out of Port Authority. They ended up on the same team and took the 6 Train home together. They now live together in East Harlem.

The couple doesn’t bowl much these days, but Enoch-Marx said they still do a lot of sports — cornhole, volleyball, touch football and kickball.

Enoch-Marx, originally from New York, said her friends and family are supportive of the choice to marry in an airport if they win the contest.

“We could get married in a cardboard box and it wouldn’t matter,” she said.

If the pair win the contest, they also get a free honeymoon to Hawaii, courtesy of Jet Blue and Hawaiian Airlines. But Enoch-Marx said she’s not afraid her wedding will become too commercialized.

“I’m marrying the love of my life and it doesn’t concern me who promotes that,” she said.

Voting for the contest closes Sunday just before midnight. If they win, the wedding will take place Oct. 23.

You can vote for the couple here. (If you’re still not convinced, Enoch-Marx said she’s a Metro reader.)
