Police shoot at home invasion suspects in Tioga
Philadelphia police officers fired their weapons at home invasion suspects in the city’s Tioga section early this morning.
One of two suspects was taken into custody after he was found hiding under a vehicle parked in the area.
The incident happened on the 3700 block of North 16th Street about 3:15 a.m., 6ABC Action News reports.
Police fired their guns at one of two suspects in the home invasion after the suspect reportedly pointed a gun toward the responding officers while fleeing the home. At least two shots reportedly were fired from the suspects’ weapons, but it’s not clear if police or the home invasion victims were the intended targets.
The two suspects had been in a struggle inside the home with two residents. Police heard a struggle coming from an upstairs bedroom before encountering the suspects, according to the Action News report.
No one was injured by the gunfire.
The suspect police took into custody did sustain a stab wound to his arm during an altercation with a resident at the Tioga home.
