Five children were seriously injured after a van jumped the curb and plowed into them near a Queens school building Thursday morning.

A Honda SUV struck the children on a sidewalk at Grand Avenue and 71st Street in Maspeth around 7:50 a.m. while the driver was attempting to park, officials said.

All five of the children attend nearby I.S. 73, Frank Sansivieri Intermediate School.

They were taken to Elmhurst Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, officials said.

A 13-year-old girl suffered a broken leg during the accident, police said.

Another 13-year-old girl fractured her leg. A 12-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl sustained leg injuries, while a 13-year-old boy had a swollen arm after the accident.

All five were treated for cuts and bruises police said.

Other students were in the area during the incident. Classes start at 8 a.m. at I.S. 73. Two other schools, P.S. 58 and P.S. 290, are also nearby.

After the accident, the 40-year-old male driver stayed on the scene.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
